Cynara scolymus Extract has many natural antioxidants and multiple pharmacological actions. Recent studies have shown that it has antitoxic activity. These results clearly show that the Artichoke (Cynara Scolymus) Leaf Extract  in lead-poisoned rats has suitable chelating properties for the reduction of blood lead levels.
Cynara Scolymus extract is used for alcohol induced hangovers and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). According to studies, Cynara Scolymus leaf extract supplementation may relieve some symptoms associated with IBS. However, no evidence supports for its use for treating alcohol induced hangovers.
