About Rosiptor
Rosiptor is Aquinox's leading drug candidate and is a "first-in-class" oral therapy for the treatment of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS).
Rosiptor is an activator of SH2-containing inositol-5'-phosphatase 1 (SHIP1).Rosiptor is a potent and selective SHIP1 activator currently in clinical development.
SHIP1 is a phosphatase that inhibits the PI3K signaling pathway. Excessive activation of the PI3K signaling pathway causes immune cells to secrete excess pro-inflammatory signaling molecules and increase their migration and retention into tissues, which can lead to chronic inflammation. Activation of SHIP1 can reduce inflammation by inhibiting the PI3K signaling pathway and reducing the migration and activation of immune cells.
Rosiptor may have clinical potential for the treatment of pulmonary inflammatory diseases.
