Acacia concinna
Acacia concinna is a tree native to Asia. The tree is food for the larvae of the butterfly Pantoporia hordonia.Alkaloids are found in the tree's fruit.Extracts from the tree are sometimes used in natural shampoos or hair powders, underlying its popular name of shikakai (fruit for the hair). Its saponins appear to have a hormonal effect, leading to its use for contraceptive purposes.
