Brassica oleracea
Brassica oleracea, also called wild cabbage, is a species of Brassica. It is native to coastal southern and western Europe, the place where its tolerance of salt and lime and its intolerance of competition from other plants typically limit its natural appearance to limestone sea cliffs, like the chalk cliffs on both sides of the English Channel.Brassica oleracea is closely associated with the model plant - Arabidopsis thaliana. In spite of this relationship, it has been difficult to both identify the most closely related segments between the genomes and determine the degree of genome replication within B. oleracea compared to A. thaliana.
